    Early Years Lead

    Our Early Years Central Service support comprises the following:

    For the Early Years Practitioners:

    • Auditing and quality assuring Early Years environment and provision
    • Advise Early Years operation set up on a day to day basis
    • Ensure continuous and enhanced provision is in place
    • Improve and implement communication and Language within the Early Years
    • Quality assure Phonics and Early Reading
    • Support parental engagement
    • Identification of pupils, tracking and assessments
    • Support the EYFS lead to become an effective leader
    • Impress the importance of ‘The role of the Adult/s’
    • Quality assure Outdoor Learning
    • Quality assure and overview curriculum planning and progression
    • Support data analysis to show progress and outcomes
    • Support and develop classroom practice in the EYFS
    • Support and develop curriculum subject leaders to enhance the knowledge of their subject within the Early Years
    • Liaising with external agencies on behalf of the school and ensuring that all professionals are held accountable to their remit

    For the Trustees / Governors:

    • Auditing of each EYFS department every year. Audit report written with feedback given to Headteacher, Governor and CEO
    • Termly feedback report on EYFS on all schools to Trustees and Chair of Governors
    • Training on key areas of EYFS
    • Part of the school review team with discussing EYFS with Headteacher

    For the Headteachers:

    • Termly feedback on their EY department and next steps improvement plan with 1:1 meeting
    • Consultation of EY strategic aims by Headteachers to formulate SEND MAT Development Plan
    • Provide operational support and advice for early year setting that require extensive input
    • EYFS training offered to setting and to staff, on best practice
    • Ensuring that EYFS is working at its optimum level and impact
    • Ensuring that EYFS setting are within correct adult ratios and pupil numbers

    For the Pupils / Students / Parents:

    • Ensuring correct support and provision is in place for all pupils in EYFS
    • Providing support for parents in EYFS
    • Offer of screenings and testing to ensure that all pupils are meeting developmental milestones
    • Liaising with external services on behalf of the parent to ensure correct support is provided for pupil and parent
